Pittsburg State University Bicknell Rehearsal Hall

Clark Huesemann is working with Pittsburg State University to complete the interior fit out of the Bicknell Rehearsal Hall. The space is designed to support rehearsal activities of the bands, orchestras, and specialty ensembles. Shelled as a part of the original building construction, the work included generating design alternatives, weighing cost versus overall design and functional benefits, preparation of fundraising drawings, and working with the user groups to plan and organize for future audio/video and technology upgrades.

Finely tuned acoustics were an important aspect of the functional performance of the space. Clark Huesemann worked closely with Kirkegaard Associates for acoustical design and engineering, integrating appropriate absorption, reflection, and sound proofing as a part of the design solution. New MEP systems were also included to serve the space. Special consideration for the acoustics of these items were coordinated between the acoustical engineers and the MEP engineers at Henderson.

Services included design alternatives, cost estimates, fundraising support, construction documents, and construction administration.
