Project Architect (In-Person)

Location: Lawrence, KS
Type: Full-time, in-person
Experience: 6–12 years

The Role
We’re hiring a Project Architect who can contribute across the full life of a project—concept through construction. This is an in-person role with meaningful responsibility and direct collaboration with principals, project managers, and consultants.

Key Responsibilities
Design + Technical Development

  • Develop design concepts through schematic design and design development
  • Translate design intent into coordinated documentation
  • Produce and manage drawing packages in Revit and Enscape
  • Participate in internal pin-ups and client presentations as needed

Documentation + Coordination

  • Lead or support production of construction documents
  • Coordinate consultant drawings and integrate into the set
  • Apply building codes and technical requirements
  • Help maintain project standards, QC reviews, and drawing clarity

Construction Phase

  • Respond to RFIs and review submittals
  • Support construction administration and site visits
  • Help resolve field issues while protecting design intent

Team Collaboration

  • Work as a key contributor on project teams
  • Mentor/support junior staff through collaboration and guidance
  • Build strong relationships across internal and external teams

Qualifications
Experience

  • 6+ years of professional architecture experience (Project Architect level)
  • Strong understanding of building systems and constructability
  • Experience producing coordinated CD sets and supporting CA

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in Revit and Enscape
  • Ability to coordinate complex consultant inputs
  • Strong detailing, documentation, and drawing communication skills
  • Specs experience is a plus

Licensure

  • Licensed architect preferred
  • If not yet licensed, active progress toward licensure is desirable

  • Clear, coordinated drawing sets with strong technical resolution
  • Smooth consultant coordination (few surprises late in CDs)
  • Good communication—internally, with clients, and with contractors
  • Strong follow-through and reliable delivery
